EPIC Food Find!

Howdy Friends!

Well I finally instructed my first exercise class in OVER A WEEK! That's way too long! It felt sooo good to get my normal sweat in! I'm really looking forward to the next two nights and my Zumba classes!

Unfortunately, my grandma is going down hill and fast. My parents have decided to go back to Iowa again this weekend, but we're really waiting any day for THE call. It's hard to just sit around and wait when you are 5 hours away, but at this point, that's all we can do...and pray!

On a lighter note, I'm going to make this a short and sweet post today about some recent eats and then I'm off to bed! After my workout I went straight to a basketball game my husband was coaching. They won their first game at sub-state and will be playing again Friday night! YEAH! Go Trojans! But I'm pooped.....

While I was grocery shopping the other day, I saw and purchased this box of cereal:

I was still googily-eyed from my infatuation with Cinnamon Cheerios, so I wanted to try another cinnamon-y type cereal. I don't mind corn flakes, but when it says "cinnamon" on the box, I want it to TASTE like cinnamon! This tasted like regular ole' corn flakes-BORING! FAIL, Kellogg's, Fail!

While I was in a "bigger" city this past weekend, I picked up some Chobani yogurt that some of my fav food bloggers rave about.

Have you tried this? It's basically fat free Greek yogurt, which packs a punch of protein like no other yogurt will! I <3 Protein! Anyway, I added a little Fiber One cereal and ate it up! It was smooth, thick, filling and delicious!

This was 3 PointsPlus, 4 PointsPlus with the cereal (I like a little crunch in my yogurt!) It's definitely a buy for when I'm in the "city" again!

And for my most epic find EVER: BANANA ICE CREAM! Ok, to you, this might not sound so life changing, but after one bite, you will be changed forever my friend!

I've heard about this before. But recently, more bloggers have been commenting about it, so I thought I better see what the hype was about. You see, I was skeptical also, but I'm a convert now:)

Banana "Ice Cream"
1 Serving

1 frozen banana (break in half before freezing)
1/3 cup of milk (I used Almond Breeze)
Mix in of choice (I used mini chocolate chip, but use your imagination here!)

Throw ingredients into blender and pulse until "ice cream" consistency. Pour in bowl and EAT!

It really isn't even that "banana-y" suprisingly! You can taste it, but it's not overwhelming! If you serve this to your kids, husbands, parents, friends-I swear to you they will not know the difference! It is THAT GOOD! I don't know how you do it banana, but you made me love you even more!:)

That's all I got! I'm off like a dirty shirt! Talk to you tomorrow;)
Oh, and a shout out to "ssplatte" who commented on my last post! She said she has been "stalking" me for awhile now and that was her first comment! Thanks so much! I hope you continue to come back! BTW: I heart comments to all you newbies...and not so newbies;)

What is something you are looking forward to this week? What is your favorite banana recipe or food?

Desserted Tip of the Day: Ok, it's not really a tip, and it has nothing to do with food or fitness, but I have NO IDEA how to reply to comments! I really can't figure it out! So if you know how to, email me, mmkay? I promise I'm not ignoring any of you who comment-I read them all! I'm just a little ignorant:)

  2. You can't really (easily) reply. In blogger world, we just *know* they're read. :) (unless someone tells you something easy, then please fill me in!!)

I'm gonna do the banana ice cream for SURE! M loves ice cream and nana's. It will be a HUGE hit, I'm sure.

My fave banana recipe is oatmeal pancakes.
    1 packet quick cook oatmeal
    1 mashed banana
    1/4 cup egg beaters

just mix up and cook on a griddle. I love that it makes like 2 pancakes and you can use any flavor packet of quick oatmeal you like. Not a lot of banana flavor to it either, but you also don't need syrup because it's sweet from the nana. :)

  3. I LOVE chobani - and I got my husband into eating them as well! We buy 12 each week so we can each have one everyday. And we found a grocery story where they sell them for only $1 each (cheapest I can find them around here...). The saddest part of my day is when I finish the last of my Greek yogurt. *Tear*. And that Cinnamon Special K looks awesome! I'll have to check it out :)
